Allow me to introduce myself and explain my reasons for starting this blog. My name is Cheryl, and I am being forced to move from the south, where I have lived all of my adult life, to the Midwest. Obviously this move requires me to give up my current home, the home that I have spent the last eight years of my life organizing and decorating to meet the needs of my family. The idea of leaving this house has been extremely hard on me. After all, my daughters have spent every Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas that they can remember in this house. We have had countless playdates, birthday parties and swimming get-togethers at this house. This house has been my occupation since the day we moved in.
Even though I have never written a blog before (in fact, I am "technologically challenged," as you will soon realize), I felt the need to document my experiences with regard to my move and setting up the new house for several reasons. First, logging the successes, failures, procedures and details of the decorating and organizing process will make things easier in the event that we have to move again. Second, knowing that people are checking the blog to track my progress will serve as an incentive to get things done. Finally, I'm hoping that writing will serve as a sort of therapy as I reluctantly embark on this journey.
It is my intention to focus my blogging efforts on the topic of decorating. I hope to include before and after photos of each space. In addition, I hope to include what I will call "after the after" photos, which will show you the space as my family really uses it, warts and all.
So, follow me on my journey as I turn a nondescript McMansion into a cozy home for my family...

I am new to your blog and I am hooked. I love your decorating style! Is there a way to have your posts delivered to my email? I looked but couldnt find a link. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say I'm adding your blog to my reading list...I too am originally from the south, living in the great state of Texas. I had to laugh when you said you are "technologically challenged" - I use that phrase all the time to describe myself!
Blessings,
nancy
